Gearbox vibration on rev run off

Forums

I've owned my Commando Mk3 850 for two years.  I've recently noticed that the bike develops a low down vibration which appears to be noticeable around the gearbox, it looks to be shaking on rev run off (fine when raving up, shakes when revs cut).

The bike runs fine in every other way.

I'm going to check primary chain tension, primary chain lubrication etc.. AND gearbox oil level, perhaps change the gearbox oil.

But I thought it would be worth asking the collective knowledge on this forum, am i on the right track or should I be checking/addressing anything else?  Any help welcome.

Thanks in advance.

I had the same on a B40, its was a CN clearance mainshaft output bearing instead of a C3 clearance. So it could be pretty much anything in the primary or gearbox that is either out of spec or just showing signs of wear. I would be looking at the clutch inner ball bearing, the sleeve gear bushes after the items you have in your list.

Perhaps the rear ISO rubbers have failed?

ps.  Being a Mk3 check the top and bottom gearbox mounting nuts and bolts are tight.
