Dominator oil tank pinstriping

Forums

I want to remove the black and red pinstriping which is on both sides of the fibreglass oil tank (its a cafe racer type tank)....the reason I want to remove it is because its a bit scratched and tired.....I then want to replace it.....at present it is handpainted....does anybody know if I can get hold of some vinyl transfers that are already done to the correct shape...or will I have to re paint them back on again.

Thanks

Hello Russ have you looked at your local car DIY store and see if you can get a roll of pinstripe they did them in all colours , thats what I used last time I painted a tank ! yours anna j

Hi,

I bought stick on pinstripes from http://stickers.signprint.co.uk/index.php?cPath=197_268&main_page=indexwhen restoring another of my bikes recently. Stickier thanvery sticky things too. Even 4mm wide was able to be curved around a 2" radius bend without creases occurring. No issues with lacquering afterwards either. Available in lots of colours and widths. They were £££'s cheaper than the local motor factors in my area.
