Boots

Not sure of this is technical enough for 'General' but we all wear boots. These might be of interest. A good quality £250 motorcycle boot with Norton logo for those who like such things (and why not?)remaindered at £75.

No Gortex lining but well made thick leather. The sizes are fairly generous so don't go up a shoe size. My shoe size is between 8.5 and 9, andmysize 9 is fine withan insole or thick socks.

ps if you find your size is not listed, it might pop up again next day. Between afriend and me we over-ordered to make sure of sizes and at least three are being returned in the next day or three! (8, 9 and 9.5)

That sounded good so I tried to order a pair. Unfortunately I'm not in the UK so ... no luck.

From Clark's

"Unfortunately we do not offer an overseas ordering/postal service. I can appreciate this news must be disappointing to you and I would like to offer my apologies. Our website is designed for use by UK residents and consumers, however we are monitoring the interest we receive from overseas and may broaden our service sometime in the future."

Hi David. They look to be pretty good value. Question is, do you find them comfortable off the bike? I have a pair of classic bike boots which are really well made, look the business, are fine on the bike, but you wouldn't want to walk far in them! I have a pair of modern bike boots which are really comfortable. You could walk around at a show in them all day, but I don't like wearing modern bike gear on classic bikes.

I know we are all different, but it would be good to know how you find them in that respect.

They have the new-fangled logo that dispensed with the properly-crossed 't'.

There is no way that I would wear them on a proper Norton.Tongue out

Too new to judge comfort walking. But we reckoned they will be fine for strolling around at some kind of destination but maybe not for climbing Helvellin. They feel better than my steel toe cap work boots but not like a pair of desert boots!

The reason I bought 9 (although I can get my feet into 8.5) is that a slightly big boot can always be made a little smaller using an insole and/or thick socks - but a small boot which squeezesmy toes cannot be made bigger.

Sorry Bruce - the UK is trading internationally without much competence it seems! To be fair - it's a bit risky buying abroad when exchanging for a better size may be a problem.

Maybe I'll walk to the pub in them this evening. All in the interests of pure research of course.

You are right David but they did have a size chart which allowed me to pick the size based on non-UK sizes. Clark's sells here too, I guess not these boots.
