Black Chrome Exhaust

I spoke to Andover Norton about black chrome exhausts about 6 months ago as they have had some made in the past and were showing on their website. They didn't have any stock at that point and they said they would not fit an 850 mk3.

Viking seem to be listing a black chrome option, but they are not cheap.

Fitting earlier reverse cone 'silencers'to a Mk III entails changing the downpipes, hangers & exhaust roses.Not clear from Alan's response whether the extra parts needed to be purchased to fit (or are available in black chrome). May be worth checking with Andover, 'cos you won't have the Mk III problem

Hi Mike - AN said that because the primary case sticks out further on a mk3 than the pre mk3, the bend of the black chrome down pipe will not clear it. I must say I haven't had any trouble with any other down pipes on my mk3 be they balanced or unbalanced.

Interesting, I've not had a problem either! Tho'when I switched over one pipe had to be replaced because the exhaust rose would not past the last curve to the head (crap workmanship) - theydid not come from AN and the vendor replaced without a fuss (though sorting out posting was an unwanted faff).

I'm going to have to buy new exhausts because mine have rusted something chronic in the 3 months that the bike was unused in the garage.Maybe I should look for stainless!
