Did the battery strap on swinging arm single downtube frames ie:- es2 and model 7 have a vertical slot cut in the centre of it with radiused top and bottom originally? Both of my examples look like home made affairs and are solid. Most period pictures show the timing side of said bikes and the parts list has no picture. Any help appreciated as I am looking at getting some complete battery carriers produced using laser cut where possible. I have a good original battery carrier but i would like to get the whole assembly as correct as possible.

The one on my 1952 plunger ES2, which I would think to be similar, has such a slot - presumably to allow for variations in assembly?

Found a good picture on page 43 of Norton twin restoration by Roy Bacon. The picture is of a Model 7 set up but it carries the same part number as the es2 - H12/586. Thanks for the replies
Iâm pretty sure there are some in the noc shop although listed for another model. I remember reading it in another thread.
Found it - search on âstrap â in the single section.
