Hi folks
Gearbox advice please.
I have just re-fit the front cover having just had it machined out for proper oil seals around the kick starter pawl and gearchange shaft, but now find myself unable to select any gears.
It seems to be stuck in second. The gear lever springs up and down freely enough but doesn't engage into anything. I have taken the cover back off and retried it a few times now and nothing looks untoward (if that is actually a word) but without success.
Suggestions appreciated.

Most likely it is the selector pawl spring. The hair spring shaped jobbie that goes on to a crescent shaped gizmo that rocks back and forth to engagen with the teeth on the selector mechanism.
Bend the spring a LITTLE where it touches the crescent so that it turns the crescent to engage. It's a fiddly little twerp but not too difficult.
