I have to replace the alternator on my 1959 featherbed ES2. I think it is the same as on Domi's. I will go 12V with electronic regulator. Which products are best? Does anyone have experience of the Alton product.

I recently fitted a new alternator and Reg/Rec unit to my featherbed Model 50 supplied by Paul Goff http://www.norbsa02.freeuk.com/goffyelectrex.htm I stayed 6v for economy but simple enough to use the same alternator with the 12v Reg/Rec and upgrade battery, coil and bulbs if you feel the need.

I have bought both Al Oz's regulator and the RGM cheapie at different times. Both seem fine. I have had a Boyer one fail. Gordon.

Boyer power box works for my Dommie. It did have three wire alternator but I leave it on maximum output. No need for a battery except for lights when standing still. With coil ignition a flat battery doesn't make much difference - just disconnect terminals (in-line fuse in my case) and kick start on the alternator. Then re-connect.
There are cheap unbranded ones around - I tried one and it was a waste of money. Don't know if others have had more luck.
Is your bike coil ignition?
