7" front hub

I have a 7" 1/2 width front hub the normal single racebearing for the full width hub fits the left hand side but the double race from the brake side (type 4203) is to small (40mm) and the one I need must be 1" 5/8 (41.27 mm) can you help.

I normally use "simply bearings" you put in the size you want, buy it on line and it arrives first class post the next day! I never buy budget makes if I can help it - false economy!

I would cut a strip of 0.6mm steel sheet (does not have to be shimming) and wrap this around the bearing hole (no overlap) and use Loctite Bearing fit on both sides to secure the bearing. This will work fine....and will be a solid reliable fix.

Otherwise have a word with "Vintage Bearings"...but expect to pay highly if one is available....Undecided

Les

PS...Agree with Dan as regards the excellent on-line seller: "Simply Bearings"...top web site good prices and rapid service....Les
