Mudguards

I dont think so, but thats only from what ive been told - a parts book would probably tell you

My wideline 99 had an original lift-up flap rear mudguard, all the valences rotted/damaged. I fitted a slimline rear whilst I sorted the original. It did'nt take much fitting at all. 

I think the number plate bracket was different.

Slimline guards have a dzus fixing for the back of the seat.

Quite right Robert, it looks well out of place !, I left it so it's still a usefull guard when I swap them back this summer. 

Waiting for a warm day to paint the repaired widelines.

hello all well I have made wideline mudguards for a 1954 dominator in the past  and they look the part to  early wideline mudguard did not have the removable tail peace  and they had a shallower valance  to later models  so you have two types of widel line mudgurads  And I can repair any trype of Norton mudguard  for Norton members only  at the same price has it costs me  and no labour costs  As I am retiered  now  just hoping to help a member out  yours anna J 

Early slimlines did not have the dzus fastener. The seat had the usual peg holes in the front and spring clips in the middle. I had a 1960 Dominator 99. On one occasion the bike got airborne leaving a hump bridge. Seat fell off.

Hi Anna, glad to hear you are still active. You may be interested in that i seem to be heading towards helping to build a Blue Manxman. It may even have orriginal exhausts and a NOS perfect red seat!. Any tips on the paint colour?.

The mudguards vary considerably over the life of the wideline and slimlime.  

The front mudguard will vary depending on the front fork width which of course became wider with the wider forks (with the Atlas) but there is still other variations, all taken care of in the Dominator Service Notes (Pg86). Although nominally they can be 'made to fit'.

If anyone's interested I've just listed a two-piece rear mudguard in decent condition on the classified section...
