Oil Filter

Where can I get the correct oil filter for my 2012 Mk1 961 ? Norton had previously done my services but now I'll be doing my own. Good chance the oil filter is a standard one fitting other bikes - have trawled the usual filter specialists online but nobody lists the 961. Any clues ?

There must be some data on the old filter, type it into Google and you should be able to find a supplier or equivalent.

Yep it's a Bosch item easily obtained, P 9147. It comes with two O rings which are no use for the Norton but will come in handy somewhere else some other time (never throw owt away).

The copper washers are 14x20x2,  but Teesdale gave me 14x20x1.5  and they seem to work ok.

I re used the O ring on the cover as it seemed like new and I wanted to get the job done without too much shopping around. Just make sure you torque everything correctly and get the cover back in the right position, put a little dab of summat at twelve o clock then you can't go wrong.

You can find the right size for the o ring in the workshop manual which can be downloaded from the web.
