Hi is there any out there who can help me i am trying to find someone who can show me how to set the the timing both valve and ignition on my model 7 engine i live in walsall west midlands thanks terry

yes that fairly ease , the ignition timing is 30 degress before top dead centre fully advanced, your valve timing now too set this you need too remove a number of parts, like draining the oil for a start and then remove the timing cover, next remove the oil pump worm drive from the crankshaft its a left hand thread, Now you see two punch marks on the timing gears you need to remove the rocker covers too so you can see the rocker arm movement , and the valve opening and closeing you then need to find the drive side valve should be set first at TDC all valves closed on the drive side you see the two punch marks line up on the chankshaft gear and the half timing gear there are also two more punch marks on the timing chain sprockets these should be looking at 11 O clock . this is now your correct timing but you need to do the valve timing frist before you set the ingition timing . yours anna j
