Hi,
Can anyone recommend an engineer who can carry out the Combat mods in Hampshire and any idea of the cost?
The only one I can think of would be Norman White but are there others?
I'd like to get them done before the sun goes.
Thanks
Graham

Are you talking about just changing the main bearings or also skimming the head, widening and polishing inlets?

Hi Ian, Surelya quick job…
Hi Ian,
Surelya quick job and a good job are not mutually exclusive. I am assuming Norman White will have the longer turn around time but have not contacted himyet so I may be wrong. I was just trying to assess the options. I had intended to use a local engineer but he hadn't done it before so declined to take it on (he is mainly a Triumph man). From an engineering standpoint it seems a straight forward operation (says an accountant).
Phil,
I am looking to get the crankcases machined and drilled as recommended / documented by AN and others. There is nothing wrong with the bottom end but as I have it stripped this far it would be foolish not to get the modsdone.

Usually where tradesmen of all persuasions are concerned, the better ones are the busiest ones. There are the exceptions to the rule, of course, although that may be wishful thinking! You made an assumption about Norman, asking on here first before asking him!
It seems a no-brainer that he would be your first port of call; unless, as you are, after all, an accountant, you fear he will be too expensive?

Norman White is an excelle…
Norman White is an excellent fellow, besides being the man you want. It's years since I used his services, which I have on a number of occasions including a full engine overhaul, but I don't recall long turn-around times â just a very pleasant and satisfying experience.

Why would you not want to go to Norman White? You won't find anyone better qualified in Hampshire.
Do you want a quick job
, or a good job?
