Hi all,
has anyone had any experience with the standard stainless front mudguard fitment with a norvil front disc? The only way Iâm able to fit it is back to front, with the stays going forward, the issue being the calliper bracket prevent the r/h stay being fitted to the fork leg. Iâll attempt to attach pics to explain.

I have had exactly the same dilema. I think that the Norvil idea is to cut short the stay and flatten it at the end and fix it to the lower caliper mounting bolt. I didn't fancy that, and simply cut off the lower stay on that side before the point where it emerged from the mudguard; several thousand miles like that with no problems.

Yes valid fix but as the hub is reversed the screw in bearing retainer will need locking in position as wheel motion will unscrew it.

On my '73 MK1A 850 Iwent the cut-off then flatten and drillthe cut end route. With a slightbit of careful trial and error bending it fitted fine to the lower caliper mounting bolt with overall mudguard clearance to tyrestill fine.

Here is a picture showing a standard mudguard stay bent around the larger caliper. You may need to enlarge the bolt hole at the end of the stay in order to refit the bolt. A rat tail file will do this.
