I am new to NOC having just purchased a hybrid, a 1965 matchless G15 CS. It's been confirmed as a genuine matching numbers bike by "Jampot" dating service. I see on the NOC web site there is a great write up of the history of the hybrids but on page 1 there is a gap in the engine numbers between 110774 and 111926 as the models changed. Why is there a gap in the web site numbers or am i mis-reading?.
Guess what, mine is in the missing group (110816) - so how do I pin down exactly what it's build spec is? Interestingly my engine is stamped G15CS xxxxx M2 and has been identified as a mark 2. Ignition is coils.
Clearly mysterious bikes and i'm very much looking forward to engaging with any expert members at NOC. Best, Derek

G15CS
This bike is a 1964 dispatched Matchless G15Mk2. I have answered the questions that Derek has sent me. The engine numbers back then were stamped with the G15CS designation, but the engine number gives G15CS/ ******/M2 which was how the G15Mk2 was engine stamped back in 1964 at Plumstead.

Not missing
All Nortons post war were numbered consecutively regardless of model. So one number could be a G15CS the next number could have been a Jubilee. The records aren't missing for that sequence, but they are sadly lacking in any information. Probably due to AMC record keeping at that time.
