I have got my 1928 CS1 up and running and am now using it. I have done about 600 miles on it so far including a week in Wales with the Sunbeam Club. It goes well and is very nice to ride. The only real problem now is that I still have no kick start pawl in the gearbox. I modified a later Norton one to fit to begin with but it didnât leave enough material in the right places and it broke fairly quickly so for the last 400 or so miles Iâve had to bump start it all the time. Not a problem in Wales as there was always a hill to park on but I would like to get it sorted.
Does anyone know where I might be able to find a kick start pawl for a 3 speed Sturmey gearbox? Or have any suggestions on modifying/making one?
