Good morning,
can anyone tell me what thread type the left footrest hanger spindle A2/514 which fits in the footrest hanger A2/513 of a 1956 M50 motorcycle uses? I can't seem to figure it out.
The thread is to short so I have to recut it.
Thanks a lot.
Heiko
Seems likely that it could…

7/16 BSF
I have a 1956 ES2, one side stripped so I welded the nut back on.
It is definitely not BSW but either BSF or BSCycle. I'll check the diameter when I get home just to be sure.
I'm thinking if the thread is too short there is probably an alignment issue somewhere. Most likely on the primary drive side. Or a spacer is missing.

3/8 CEI
Robert was correct as to the size 3/8"
but mine measured 26tpi. CEI.
I was thinking, maybe if you were to back off the nut on the other end until you can get the nut started. Then tighten both up.
But like I said above, make sure everything is properly lined up.
