Hello.
My new bike is not sitting at the right revs but it's inconsistent. It's going to be due it's 500 mile service over the next few months but wondered if this was an issue that others had experienced?
If you run in towards a set of lights at say 40 mph, pull in the clutch as you're coming to a stop, it will sit at just over 2000 revs rather than returning to where you would expect it to. If you knock it into 1st and crawl forward to bring the revs down, it will then sit at the correct idle, about 1200. Sometimes it drops straight back down to the correct revs but more often than not, it won't.
Please forgive my lack of knowledge but the little silver wheel that connects to the end of the throttle cable is clean and returning to the stop screw where it should do so I'm presuming, it's some sort of sensor issue. Turning off the ignition and starting the bike again sometimes sorts the issue, other times it won't.
As mentioned, I will definitely ask for this to be looked at when I take it for its service but just curious if this is a known issue?
Thanks, Tom.
