Norton ES2 concentric carb

Forums

Hi All, I have a 50s side valve ES2 swing arm model it is far from stock but I have had it running and ridden it up the road but it is running really rich and fouling the plug. It has a concentric carb fitted and I have done all the usual dropping the needle height, and judging the mixer screw etc but still can’t get it right. Has anyone in here run a concentric Amal on their ES2 and if so what model, jets etc? Thanks in advance

Side valve ES2, did I read that right?   ES2 is OHV.

Yes I have two ES2's with Mk 1 Amal's.

A big bore  ES2 with a 28mm with 240 main jet  (530 cc)

A Poor Man's Manx with a 30mm  with 230 main jet  (Standard bore 490cc)

I think both have 3.5 slides but I can't remember needle settings, both run well.

Hope this helps.
