Wideline stand

Forums

Hi All,

I have nearly completed the initial build ofa cafe racer and have come across an issue with the centre stand. The stand only just misses touching the ground, the strange thing to me is that I have 18" wheels so it seems odd that with the smaller diameter wheels the stand does not reach.

I am going to weld on some extra pads to the feet to fix the problembut was wondering if anybody has any thoughts on why this could be.

Cheers

Andy

And/or are the over-centre stops beneath the frame tube badly dented or worn into the frame? My bike had welded reinforcement here (is that standard I wonder?) but the PO had also lashed up a 6mm square steel rod held in place below each frame rail with a pair of Jubilee clips to stop the stand going too far past centre!

Hi.

Could be:

The two 'lugs' on the stand that the frame centre stops David mentions rest on.

Worn pivot bolts or worn pivot bolt holes in the stand itself.

Worn stand 'feet'.

Too long fork stanchions fitted- i.e Commando ones.

Too long rear shocks - Wideline ones are 12.9".

Regards.

Ian.
