In my 961 Log Book it states that the 'mass in service' is 212 (kg). Which is roughly 466 lbs. Also that the power to weight ratio is 0.29 kw per kg. Maximum power being quoted as 59kw.

I have a 650 Dommie in cafe race style which I know weighs 405 lbs with oil and a little fuel. It is significantly easier to move about than my 961 Sport which I would said was heavier.

My guess before today being the 961 has a similar weight to that of a Mk3 850 Commando.

To answer the question from my perspective, I have just popped the beast on some scales and the weight has come out at about 204kg including half a tank of fuel. That is nearly 450lbs. Definitely quite a lot more than quoted.

So the sales brochure (attached) and factory advice is a bit off. No doubt some of the 961 models adorned by carbon fibre and alloy 'go faster' chunks are a bit lighter. Good for them...........but the standard model 961 is not 188kg.............unless the engine has fallen out!!!

I should have added, Karren told me 188kg DRY WEIGHT so fuel and oil might make up the difference?

Real world weight on mine was 515 Lbs with a full tank of gas.

Weighed, today, on an accurate scale at local metals sales yard.

Weight of 2017 Triumph Thruxton 1200 on same scale was 490 Lbs.
