Replacing the rear drum sprocket...

Forums

Hi all,

I need to fit a new rear drum / sprocket - but how do I remove the dummy axle and bits from the existing?

When I look at the cush rubber side the edge is penned over - so not obvious to me which way it all comes out - I can see from the parts manual there are bearing inside, so I don't want to do any damage getting them all out.

Sure you guys know what I need to do?

Thanks - Paul.

OK I'm in - ground off the penned edges (using a dremmel) and drilled a small hole down the side and got a pick under top cover - bearing is completely shot.

I assume you found the large circlip that holds the bearing in place. I only ask as on mine the lip that retains the circlip broke away causing the drum to drift outward which i only discovered when the chain wore a nice grove in the chain guard. Mark.
