I just got my Girling rear shocks repainted, and bought some new bolts, nuts and bushes from Norvil. My old bushes had turned into sticky rubber gunge.
The new lower bushes fit snugly into the swingarm, but the top mounts, on the frame proper, have a 1.15" gap, whereas the bush inner sleeve is only .75" wide.
The parts book does not show any spacers, can anybody clarify this for me?
The bike is a 1961 99SS Slimline

So were the top eyes on the original Girlings 1.15" wide? - I have never seen any like that. If so, Norvil sent me the wrong bits.
Alternatively the eye, outer tube and rubber could be 0.75" wide with the central steel tube 1.15" wide - but that would allow the inner steel tube to float longitudinally in the rubber bush.

There should not be spacers - the bushes should be a snug fit. It looks like you have been supplied with ones which are too short.
