Oil pump on eBay question

Forums

Is this just a higher capacity 3 start pump or something different? TIA

This does look like the higher capacity pump fitted to most twins after 1960 when the 650 engine came on the scene. Most but not all had the letter 'S' stamped on the casing to identify them from the standard twins pump fitted to the earlier smaller engined bikes. In 1965 this pump was fitted with the 6 start worm and drive to handle the pressure rocker feed the later big engines had.

The price being asked for this pump is OTP. There are plenty of these to be found in good condition at A/Js for £20 or less. If you are desperate to get your hands on one contact Dale Middlehurst through the NOC website or Roadholder. He can also offer an oil pump reconditioning service.

Since it is offered "for spares or repair" , it is probably not worth buying anyway, unless your existing pump is beyond repair.

Thanks for the help. Just after info at the moment so I know what to look out for come winter project time.
