Laydown gearbox plea

Try RGM. They have many parts for the laydown gearbox, and their delivery times are hard to beat.

Ive got a gearbox kickstart shaft with the spigot [?] and spring,I think it may be off a dolls head box so I would need to know the length of the lay down box shaft or if its interchangeable [ some bits are ].Ive got gears but not the kickstart spring,but the club or Norvil should stock this, and they do the spring cover....The shaft I have is 5 1/4 inches long and I have a shorter one in poor condition about 4 1/2 inch long so that may be a Dolls Head type.

I am afraid you are going to struggle - I have a GB8 box and after four months trying every supplier, visiting three personally I finally threw the towel in! I was after a new kickstart shaft and they are not available - the spline on mine was damaged. I have the shaft, the inner case, spring, spring cover, pawl etc having changed to a standard laydown box - don't be kidded that it is a straight swap it needs machining and tweaking. I left mine to Pete Lovell to do for me. RGM say they are thinking of producing a few but no dates, Russell fell out with me after sending three different shafts without success. Sorry to be negative but hope you can learn from my pain.

Norvil were my first port of call - Les may have managed to find them since - you may be able to rescue this shaft if you get stuck.
