Does anyone have an original horn bracket for the single downtube, swinging arm models that they can photograph for me? I expect it is a straightforward P clip but would like to know what Norton used at the factory.
Thanks, Philip

Robert,
The above info is very useful, but I'm interested in how the horn actually attaches to the frame. The is no welded lug on the single downtube, swinging arm frame to fix it too, so I presumed there must be a "P" clip to go onto the top tube behind the oil tank.
The Spare Parts List mentions part number 701686, which is shown in the bight spark magneto pages, but not how it is attached to the frame. The top tube is 1" OD.
Thanks, Philip

not an es2 i know. but the photo shows my 56 19s horn position. it was mounted with a hefty bolt on p clip type bracket not the sort made of thin metal quite a chunky bracket. just to do ya head in the bracket had a captive nut as per diagram
poor quality photo took it off a video clip

Philip,
The 1955 ES2 frame should have a welded bracket for the horn mounting. The 1955 Model 7 frame did not have the bracket and used the same clip as the centre stand clip to fix the horn to the frame behind the oil tank.

David,
Neither of my 1955 ES2's have a welded bracket on the frame, nor does my 1954 Model 7; it would have been very useful if there was one! The frame for the horn mounting is 1" dia. whilst the centre stand "P" clip fits onto a 3/4" tube.
Barry's horn fixing is the type of arrangement I was expecting, but the wiring terminals on the back of the horn get very close to the mudguard and could easily short out if it touched.
