Hi, my bike seems to be revving a bit at 50mph well more than i would like it to be. so i wondered what size engine sprocket i could fit to lower the revs. i have a 19 tooth gearbox sprocket on a laydown gearbox and a 19 tooth engine sprocket. there will only be me onboard. not after speed just trying to lower the revs a little the engine seems like it needs another gear. its got plenty of power.

Assuming it is an ES2 we are talking about? Mine has a 20T engine sprocket and a 20T G/box sprocket and goes along nicely.
RGM have the sprockets. Make sure you get the correct offset for the engine. PS Barry, with the 19T G/box sprocket if your engine is in good order it will pull 21T on the engine OK.

Paul . thanks for that i wasnt sure what was standard.
Neil. thanks for that. it is an es2 engine i did the engine a bit ago it has plenty of power. i think i will go for the 21 tooth option on the engine with the correct offset.

I have a 1960 ES2 and thought it revved a bit at about 55 mph. I changed the engine sprocket from 18 (sidecar) to 21 and now it is much more relaxed at 55 mph. One observation is that on long hills the engine is better in third gear and a steady speed without trying to accelerate.
The offset remark is very important.

Peter. thanks for that, i will check the offset . i dont like over revving any engine. so the 21t engine sprocket seems the way to go.

A 20T engine sprocket is standard, along with your 19T gear box and a 42T rear wheel sprocket.
