Fuel tank leak Model 18

Hi, it seems I have a very small leak in my fuel tank, it takes a while to come through but overnight there's evidence of weeping. I've taken it off but cannot see any holes. Seems to be in the area of the front left fixing. Any tips on locating the crack and fixing it without welding, possibly sealing it? And any recommended sealant.

Many thanks

There is an earlier thread, Matthew, in Messages. Type in "leak" in the search box and you should find it. It was in 2014. Very interesting!George

I had a dirty wrap on a seam on my Dommie. The tank had been bagged with fibreglass res some time age and resembled a dried up wall paper paste bucket with red rust in.

I filled the tank with citric acid and left for a week. I then trained bar about a gallon and put lots of nut and bolts in an shook for about 20 mins. It was like new when finished. Then I used a frost por tank lining kit. The pre treatments wouldn't have got it anywhere near clean.

Having done it, I would just get the lining paint. The preps were as weak as dish water. The citric acid was a chap suprise.

Hope this helps.

Kevin
