The one thing that irritates me on the Cafe Racer are the foot pegs. I find that I catch them on my boots when setting offand theythen stay in the upright position . Also I have to move the lefthand one to the upright position in orderto use the side stand. Has anyone found springloaded replacements? Or do I have to get different boots!

Thanks Clive, I am getting better at avoiding them, but as the saying goes - prevention is better than cure.
When I took the bike to the factory for it's first service I was asked if I had any suggestions to improve the bike and of course I mentioned the foot pegs. I was not the first, but I guess they have other priorities and a crate full of foot pegs.

I had the same problem with the footrests, nearly coming to grief on pulling away from the factory with my new 961. My waterproofs got caught in the rests which had been pulled upright when lifting my feet off the ground. This happened several times on the way home so the first thing I did was remove the rests and then remove the spring and ball bearing that hold it in the vertical or horizontal position. This allows the rest to drop down from the vertical position by gravity and so solves the prob.

Hi guys
I made a simple fix for this using nothing other than good old gravity. By taking off each footpeg the spring and ball bearing that holds the peg up falls out meaning no more fishing around with your toe, works for me.

Hi Dave
when I first had my sport, I found the pegs a nightmare, so I kept them in the down position with insulation tape! After a while it put them back to normal and I found after a while I could ride and find them and push them down. Practice makes perfect, but I agree spring loaded ones would be good . Clive Willis
