Hello Peter, A three-part article about the ES4 can be found in Roadholders 307,308 and 309 (June - August 2013.)
Rh 307 p21
Rh308 P31
Rh309 P31
If you haven't got old hard copies of them they are all in the Roadholder archive on this website.
Cheers,
Mark Woodward.

I have changed it quite a bit from the artical in RH. It now has Norton forks with a Robinson double sided twin leading shoe brake and a 500 Suzuki back wheel with cush drive. The motor has had a couple of updates to. I now drain the rockerboxs with external lines going into the pushrod tubes as I had a few problems with leaks (Wot on a Norton, Never).
The gearbox is now 4 speed not 5, It only needs 3 tell the truth.
I have also gone down about 5 teeth on the back sprocket so the overall gearing is now about 3.4:1. It still plonks down to just over 30 mph in top and pulls your arms out with a twist of the throttle.
Cheers Tony

Maybe Donnington Norton could make a bike like this, however it did them a number of years to put some pillion footrests on what they have now.

I think it was featured in The Classic Motorcycle or Roadholder but I did read quite a bit of detail about it.
