i checked my engine bolts…
i checked my engine bolts found the two at the bottom of the engine tight well i thought they were. they were simply tightening to the angle frame rails and not clamping the engine at the same time. i put some shims down inbetween the engine and frame to solve it . the bike did seem a lot tighter after. i only found out because when i was fitting my makeshift side stand i noticed the frame rail twisting as i slowly lowered it onto the stand. all tightened up ok after and gave an overall sturdier feel to the bike and stand.

Hi George
Check the head steady......Once on my M50 it worked loose and the problems you described occurred.I assume you have not altered the engine balance by a re-build?

Hi George. My 1957 bike is…
Hi George. My 1957 bike is fine up to 60 MPH but gets a bit vibey above that speed. Most of the Devon roads I ride are not safe to ride above 60 so I just live with it. Strangely, when riding above 60, the speedo goes silly and wanders up to 90 MPH indicated but not plausible. It's all part of the classic bike experience.
I think you are in Cornwall. Which part, may I ask? I used to live in Liskeard.

Over-tight primary or final drive chains and loose engine mounts are the first thing that I'd check.
