ES2 - 1956 luggage rack

Forums

Has anyone got any recommendations for a suitable luggage rack? Where would the anchor points be?

thanks

My 1956 19S came with a carrier bolted directly to the rear guard (where the 2 sections join), no other support. Not a great idea as the guard was cracked almost all the way through just behind the gearbox. My solution to the problem was to cut 2 plates from 5mm stainless. The 2 plates areplaced either side of the guard and attached by the top shock bolts and the bolts that the hold the 2 guard sections together. The plates are also braced to the pillion foot pegs. You can then attach your choice of rack to the plates. On my bike I used a Givi top case plate and included mounts for side cases in the brace to the pillion pegs. It works well but is probably over-engineered. If I ever do a Mk2 it would be a little simpler & lighter.
