Dynamo drive parts availability?

Forums

Hello Nortoneers,

I am working on a model 7 & am having trouble finding a source (new or used) for some of the dynamo drive parts (see list below). I needed the gear locking peg for my M77 & never did find one, so I had to make one on the lathe, because no one seemed to have any parts for these dynamo drives. Does anybody have any suggestions on where I should look?

Thank you in advance

UPDATE:Norvil stocks the gear (now in steel, rather than fiber), the spacer, and the 5 finger spring !!!!!I am not so sure the spring plate is even necessary (or the peg) if the gear isnt made of fiber anymore???????

Any thoughts on weather I even need the "slipping ring" with a steel gear???

I hope to do a photo set for this issue soon & post it. As posted earlier, the only supplier I could find for the drive parts was Les Emery at Norvil. He was as usual, very helpfull with free advice on the "help line" & I purchased the new steel gear, spacer,& 5 finger spring fom him. All is of excelent quality. The steel gear is a replacement for the original fibre gear & the part number Norvil gave me for the spring plate (looks like a big steel washer very thin) is an item I stock for rebuilding lucas MO1 magnetos! This plate no longer has the notch for the drive pin, as the drive pin is not necessary. After carefull measuring I found that the original fibre gear on the Norton dynamo drive is the same fibre gear used on the Lucas MO1 magdyno also !
