Nice work Miguel in finding this.

There is little point in us biding against each other.

I feel a little sad that nobody has a good spare to loan to the club so that more can be made.

Gordon, yes please if we can't get some steel ones.

Anthony, I'd be happy to buy yours if you are selling. If I bought it, I would loan it to club spares to have more remade. On the other hand you may wish to keep it but hopefully loan it to the club yourself?

Ian Sommerville told me that he now has a metal spinner who can copy from a good original.

This is a great opportunity.

Thank you Gordon, I will take you up on your kind offer if we can't make progress on new steel ones in the coming days.

Hope you are OK with this, Miguel?

I think my headlampis complete as I bought it for a Matchless G15/45 project a while ago and decided not carry on with it. I also have some other ones, but I am sure there are differenttypes of this headlamp shell.

Ok guys.

I have a Christmas present for NOC... I found and bought an original Lucas MCH61 Headlight shell. Its should be here from USA in a week.

Its going to need restoration. If NOC is agreed, I can lend it to the club to make a mold or copies.

I bought it for my Dominator, but I can wait using the other different shell I have now unit the club has the mold.

Let me know how to proceed.

The label on the Lucas box reads, One head lamp 59171 Type MCH 6V. This head lamp is complete with a Lucas SA88 light switch, and the Lucas Ammeter, with the number 8 oneach side, with the Lucas ignition switch, Lucas number 34427. It has a new head lamprim and the glass, and it also has the correct bolts with the rubber grommets at theharness entry points in the under side of the shell. This head lamp has never been on a bike. I do not think this will be a Norton type, as it has the different type ignition switch and key fitted into the head lamp. This ignition key is the flat type with cut outs at the bottom.

That head lamp shell looks very much like the Norton Nomad type for 1958 to 1960, and I have some of those also.

I am soon to replace the orriginal (slightly battered !) shell on my coil Ignition 60 99 DL .This is the type with speedo, ampmeter ,medallion and PSR8 switch. I would happily donate the orriginal for the exercise, is it needed?.
