If you go to the Sth Wales section VMCC you will find easier to read copy under tech. section. Having a March 1973 850 I found it interesting. Regards Neil.

Neil, I'm sure lots of people would like better versions than I managed.

Do you have a URL that you can share? And do you mean the South Wales section http://www.southwalessectionvmcc.co.uk/index.htm or the West South Wales section http://www.westsouthwalesvmcc.co.uk/index.php ?

Thank you for posting this. I find these old articles invaluable.

Please will you confirm the date? I can make out March 1973.

I wish the NOC would take on building an electronic archive of these old articles, adverts, spares lists, handbooks, workshop manuals etc. I realise there may be copyright issues but we have a situation where we're often dependent on third party websites which may not exist as long as the NOC does. I'd volunteer to help put this together from the wealth of material held by NOC members.

I'm also aware of the 'Kim the CD Man' Norton DVD but this is not easy to obtain in the UK.

Any thoughts?

Your confusion is forgivable; at one time MC used to date itself "Wednesday 32 October" (or whatever), but then switched to the less helpful "week ending" version (basically a marketing ploy, though I forget the rationale).

Whoops...see the date at the top of the post but was confused by week ending.

8 March 1973 it is.

p.s. 8 March 1973 was a Thursday, according to my laptop's calendar.

Also from 8 March 1973; what you could have had instead (if you shopped at Comerfords)

New

1973 Interstate £599

1972 Kawasaki 750 £699

1972 Triumph T150V £672

1973 Honda CB750 £731

Laverda 750 £1095 (year? They can't have been easy to shift at 50% over the price of a Honda 4)

1972 BSA Lightning £459 (but, ugh!)

I have to say that if I could go back to 1973 with £1095 I'd have the Lav.
