Hi, should the grub screw in the photo be fully screwed in. as i can turn it with a screw driver. it is a tight fit thread wise . is it some sort of blanking plug if so can it be screwed in and tighten up fully.

Hi Paul , thanks for that. i wasn't sure whether or not to just tighten it up . when i first looked at the thread i thought a lock nut had fallen off but if its a case of it just screws in and tightens up thats good enough for me.

Same bike as mine, Barry, Just checked it and mine protrudes about 1/8" with no locknut and not shown on the parts list - or in an earlier issue (1950). Hope this helps.

Every days a school day! .......didn't think my 1960 M50 had one but it has, just as George describes about 1/8th showing, no lock nut. (not as visible as yours in a slimline frame)

George, John, thanks for that .it looked to be protruding more than it did . i only noticed it because i was cleaning and painting the lower frame rails in that area. its screwed in tight now. glad i noticed it..

Hi Barry, mine is screwed in tight, from memory, itis a drilling blank off for the oil return from sump to pump. Best make sure it doesn't vibrate out.
