Does anyone have any information, pictures, literature, drawings, etc on the air cleaner that will fit a featherbed single? In the parts listing for all models '61/'62 there is a cleaner listed for all singles, pn 18684. I understand that in the UK it never gets dusty but out here in the western U.S. it can happen. I would think that this would also apply to those down under and perhaps to those in the mid-east.
I am guessing that it would have to be wedge shaped tofit between the off-set carb bell mouth and the oil tank. There is a hole in the filler piece between the oil tank and the battery box but I am thinking that the hole could only be used forsingle carb twins as the carb on a single is offset.
Does the Club hold the factory drawings? Does anyone hold the factory drawings?
Thanks

Dominic:
I guess if a 45 degree (or so) adapter was made to bolt to the head, the carb would be kicked out far enough to get an air filter on it and clear the oil tank.
Does your set-up clear your leg?
Can you post a photo of what you did?
Thanks

Hi Mike
If you let me have your email address I will send a couple of pics. The 100kb limit on this site makes it difficult to send any good quality pics. You can mail me at manxkipper@iafrica.com

Hi Mike
In frustration at not being able to get any filter unit to fit in such a small space I decided to extend the inlet tract at an angle to allow a k&n type filter to be fitted to my 1961 ES2. Solved the issue of dust especially here in South Africa.
