1965 650 ss

Hi,

I am having great difficultly starting my 650ss when hot.

Thorspak ignition is fitted & new Monoblocks

It willeasily start with a bump & runs perfectly, the plugs are a

nice brown colour and it will start firskick from cold.

Anyone got any advice.

Try kickstarting with the throttle closed and catch it with the throttle when it fires. So...no tickling....no throttle...just kicking....You might even need to keep your hand off the throttle when attempting the start as it's easy to subconsciously blip it.

BTW you will have to have it set up correctly so it idles or ticks-over reliably when hot, so you might want or need to adjust the idle mixture screw to find a perfect tickover
