'66 Domi-SS headlamp

Forums

Hello all,

A friend just purchased a 1966 dominator ss , I am going by later today to have a look & see if it is an 88 or 99 (count the cylinder fins). He said it is missing the entire headlamp assembly & needs one. I will have him get a parts book & workshop manual asap, but in the meantime was wondering if anyone had a headlamp for sale, or could upload a picture of what it is suppose to look like, or send a Norton, or Lucas part number?

It will be a lot of fun, as Kyle has a 1970 Commando already & just acquired the SS & he is only 20 years old. I will be pushing for him to join the NOC. His dad owns a war issueIndianmotorcycle & they own some type of WWII vehicle that they go to reenactments with.

It is good to see some young people join the club. I am currently trying to get a club stand at the international motorcycle show in Cleveland, Ohio USA this January to promote Nortons & the club. Any suggestions? I am working on getting a quanity of bike for display, I suppose it would be a god idea to have some applications available as well.

I finally found my old Lucas books, and if it is correct, the '66SS would need a 59666A headlamp? I only found one vendor that seems to sell that model & here is a link:

Does this seem correct?

Hi Skip, do you have the correct seat for this bike?, as I have just placed the correct seat on Ebay together with some other SS parts. Regards Ben

Skip, I suggest you look further. Look at parts for sale by vendors in the UK, like Norvil, Mick Hemmings and RGM amongst others. I noticed in the past that Old Britts prices are usually much higher than other vendors. I have found that generally vendors of British motorcycle parts in the USA jack up the prices to the extent that they are more expensive than ordering from Britain, even taking into account shipping costs.
