I think perhaps the current Norton factory might have finished with its involvement in rotaries
Denis, there is a Rotary forum at rotaryownersclub.co.uk to be found that has a few more Rotary viewers. The only commercial engine repairer in the UK is Graham Wilshaw of startright.co.uk. There is also an ex-Norton man called Richard Negus who has scaled down his private work but might be contactable through the Rotary Forum.
Your friend needs to join that Forum.

Yes, the factory finished over 15 years ago!
But there is indeed plenty of help and advice on the rotary forum, and Commanders are well catered for.

Hi Den, He would be well advised to contact Richard Negus with regards to the machining of the rotor housings and subsequent molycoating and grinding. Richard charged me £450 for that service when I had my IP2 done probably 6 or 7 years ago. The rest of it I did myself. simple job really but the seals and springs and new bearings will be pricey because they come from the Shenstone drone people and they are not interested in motorcycles. If the rotor housings or main shaft are shot the options are limited.

Thank's to one and all for getting in touch with me, we have now contacted Richard and I am going to remove the engine and take it to him.

Denis:
Does not the Factory have a rebuild service? Or, perhaps they can recommend someone who can do it?
