Screen for a Commando

Forums

Hi all - I'm after ideas for a screen for my Mk2A 850 Interstate - I've seen some nice ones on club members bikes - I seem to recall the Givi stuff is good - I don't want anything too big but enough to keep the wind off a bit at 70-80 MPH.

Cheers,

Hi Mark,

I have a screen on my Commando 750 Roadster, I bought it new from e-bay via a company called Julian Soper motorcycles. Its a screen made for the new Hinckley Bonneville but is an absolutely perfect fit for the Commando. it even has small cut-outsto fit roundthe front indicators. Its slightly tinted and looks really great. It is an "old style" screen reminiscent of the old Tri-point windscreen that I had fitted to a Commando back in the 70s. You may have seen my bike if you attended the Classic bike show at the NEC the other week. My bike was the Red Roadster parked next to the Purple metalflake Roadster (which I also restored) on the Clifton arms Classic bike club stand next to the BMW clubs stand. Riding wise, the screen makes high speed riding (motorway type use) quite a pleasure, taking all the wind off the top part of the body. I'm 5' 11" and my line of sight is just over the top of the screen. I can ride along with my visor up at 70 to 80 mph without the wind in my eyes. The only detriment is that wind noise around the helmet increases slightly, but ear plugs would sort that if you found it a problem. All in all. I can fully reccomend this screen and I think its looks fit in with the bike much more than a Givi which I think looks too modern to suit the bike. hope this is helpful. if you need any more detail feel free to get back to me. Cheers Alan

I have had a PUIG screen fitted to my Fastback with good results apart from wind noise but I generally use earplugs. It looks reasonable and has good fittings.

Further to my last, Mine is a "PUIG Touring" (Not Puig touring II) £73.99 from M&P same price as Busters. Might get it cheaper with a more involved search on line.
