Has anyone got a suggestion regarding the fitting of a later type propstand (mk3 850) to a 1972 model 750 frame as mine has lug type (no bolt fitting) as wife gets fed up kneeling down and getting it out for me ? Regards Alan Nortiboy Johnson

Ok, weld three extensions on the stand so you have a choice of how you hook it out with your foot....

Not sure how that slipped through. To answer your original question I can tell you there is a conversion available from Norvil http://www.norvilmotorcycle.co.uk/062001.htm

However, I would not say it is much easier to operate unless the extension is missing from yours totally? Even with the 3" tang it has to be bent just right to be reachable with a toe or heel.

Old Britts are an American company who sell Norton parts. A lot of these parts are obtained from sources in Britain, and Old Britts just jack up the price and sell them. Even though I live in America, I prefer to buy from British sources.

Try this site for more detail........fitting angles etc. though I'm not sure if it is dimensionally equal to Norvil's. It should be. Go to Technical....upgrading the 1971 side stand etc.

Andover Norton, Norvil and others sell a Sidestand Mounting Kit under part number 06-2593.

Its a bolt on lug to allow the late stand to be used on the early pre 72 frames not 72.

British Cycle have a picture on their website so have a lookit may work for you.
