1928 ES2 valve lifter mystery

Forums

I'm at the early stages of planning a restoration of a 1928 ES2.
Some fuzzy diagrams of the ES2 engine and the parts list lead me to believe that the engine had an exhaust valve lifter however I can't find any clear picture or photo to confirm this. PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED DRAWINGS AND INFO.
Can anyone positively confirm that my attached drawing of the mystery valve lifter is correct?  Eternal gratitude to anyone who can provide any evidence such as a photo of the thing.

Please note, before posting I've consulted with several experienced early Norton people, all of them believe my theory is quite plausible but all admit to never actually having seen one.

Thank you David!
I assume the second one is correct for an ES2 as the enclosed springs seemingly would prevent the first style to attach to the spring/pushrod.
