I've been trying to fit the brake lever supplied with my ES2 without success. I bought the machine in boxes and have been trying to assemble it.
I have to conclude that it doesn't go with the machine, as it should run from a spindle screwed into the frame behind the clutch, to just in front of the footpeg. However to do that it (the brake lever) would need to be curved and it isn't. which makes me think it is for a swingarm model.
Can anyone send a picture of how that lever should run? Better yet could someone supply me with the right brake lever?

That looks like it curves around the clutch housing... mine just runs straight.

Brake pedal profile
This is the brake pedal I got with the bike. I think it is from a featherbed or perhaps a swing-arm version of the ES2.
Anyone with more information feel free to weigh in. Also anyone with a plunger brake pedal for sale!

You should be able to bend…
You should be able to bend your existing pedal to the right shape with plenty of heat from the oxy set, or a gas torch. Photo of mine attached.

Thanks! Just the view I needed, and a great idea! I can't really believe I didn't think to bend it myself. I don't suppose you know the thread in the frame that the pedal spindle screws into? It looks like it could do with some tlc.
I ordered a spindle from NOC shop but it was the wrong size (screw too fat and spindle too short).

Brake pedal
The same pedal was used on plunger model 7's as well. Part number D12-498. Photos attached.
Note there are two lengths and two different widths of the bush that fits over the spindle.
The two casting numbers are shown in the third photo.
The longer pedal has casting number 14372 and bush width is 1 3/8"
The shorter pedal has casting number 5213 and bush width is 1".
I use the longer pedal on my plunger machines.

I don't suppose you have a spare one Ian?
I know brakes just slow you down - but I'm going to struggle with describing the ES2 as roadworthy with no rear brake!

The thread in the frame is 7…
The thread in the frame is 7/16" x 20 cycle thread (7/16" unf will also fit), small thread is 5/16" x 26 cycle thread.
