The main drive sprocket has the highest torque setting on the Commando at 80 ft/lb and is a left hand thread. I cannot find a wrench that works/measures left handed anywhere.
How do people torque this nut once the mainshaft is on as a socket will not go over it. In the videos by Hudson and Hemmings they do not show tightening the sprocket nut and I don't think they use a torque wrench anywhere.
Given the nut is left hand, so self-tightening, is it fair to simply tighten "pretty tight" it with some locktite and don't worry about getting exactly 80ft/lb ?
Use a box spanner to extend…

Beam type torque wrenches…
Beam type torque wrenches are cheap, simple, reliable and reversible. Not posh enough to be sold by the likes of Screwfix. That's because so many people buy the ratchet type because they wrongly think they must be best. The beam type tells you how close you are getting, if you really want to chase a number.

lock ring
lock ring is there for a reason. The small screw is 2BA, same as top and bottom of Mk1 Amal. I have never worried about getting a large torque on that nut, but have loctited the small screw.
Anyway, the fixed positions of the holes for small screw mean you may not get the exact torque AND hole alignment.

Use a box spanner to extend over the mainshaft. Readily available, e.g.:

You can just guess at how tight, it's not critical and there's a lock ring anyway. Back in the day (TM) I used a pipe wrench on the end of the box spanner.
