Can anyone tell me if the "high bars" fot the U.S export Atlas are the same as the Manxman ? And where would i be able to purchase some ?
I ordered a set of " U.S.A high bars " through Norvil , however these appear to be for commando , and wern't what i was looking for.

Those high bars must have…
Those high bars must have also been used on the export street scrambler Matchless G15CSR, as well as the G12CSR. I bought a pair for £5 for my Manxman project, and they were veryrusty from a friend of mine, and he was going to throw them away. I cleaned them up with some wire wool and all the rust was cleaned off. I found a part number stasmped onone of the ends. It turned out that these bars were the originalNorton ones fron the 1960's. You could try American dealers as they may have some used or even apair of NOS ones.

You could also have them made, as this is some times your only option. There is also Norman Hyde who supplies handle bars and hemakes a handle bar that is almost the same.

Hello Dave Just a thought What Colour are you going for. Because The Polychromatic blue is not easy to mix. RS paints Have Not got the Right Colour . Theres is wrong .its a peril paint . And PolyChromatic Paint is a Metallic Paint with 3 or more colours mixed in . like a metallic flip paint you see in our days ,A Peril Paint as a peril look to it, Its Not a Metallic Paint . Just wanted to point this out. To get a good paint Contact Nu-again Paints On 01234-355990. These Guys Know there auto paints they make there own paint. They have been in the paint business since 1946. and did touch up paints for Cars and Motorcycle in the 1940s50s60s70s and still trading ,So they can get you the right colour for your Norton . The paint code you may need.is .A68/P4217750.Co.82B6173J Old ICI paint Code for Polychromatic blue. or Lotus Pacific Blue its the same Colour match .But you must use a Gold metallic Base coat first. Then the Blue, Then Lacquer in thin coats and let dry in between coats of lacquer . 3 to 4 coats should be OK. And constant temperature of 70F must be maintained. hope this may help a member. yours Anna J

Hello Yes there the same as Manxman , the size you need are *8 inch rise 6inch pull back .28 inch for end to end of the bars so you 8 inch rise is for the bottom curve of the bar the top crave of the bar .the pull back is the distance for the top curve of the bars to the end of the bar . so you need to keep looking as there not easy to find you may pay something like £25 to£35 pounds of them , Norvil will not have them, just have look at my bikes photo in roadholder 301 back page you should have one as there is some 8000 copies got out
