Fire Flake Silver

Forums

Hi All

Can anyone recommend a painting company who they know for definite can paint a tank and tailpiece in Norton fire flake metallic silver? The last timeI had my bike painted they made a right mess, using the wrong grade metal flakes and refused to do anything about it, and if I did not pay I would not get my all painted items back?

Regards Wayne

Hi Wayne , My fastback is painted in metalflake silver , but at the time of painting (2000), the only company able to supply the necessary paint/flake were in Bournmouth , and were agents for an American paint manufacturer (not cheap but very good quality) . Unfortuneately i dont have the receipt so dont know the name , but you could try Google . I used a small company called " Colour Crazy Resprays " who did a superb job at an acceptable price . Richard is the contact and he/they are located on the junction of the A19/A64 near York I have had three bikes painted by Richard and all were excellent . Incidently the flake size i used is much smaller than original Norton , but in my opinion is far superior . It came in a 100 cc plastic tub , and Richard told me there was sufficient to do 10 or more bikes . I still have it so if you need any let me know . Best of luck , Barry Crosby.

Hi Wayne , ive just found the receipt for the paint . Its from a company called " VEGAPALM ltd " and they are/were on 01202526477/8 in Bournemouth . The silver flake was code" MF02 silver" and they told me i would need a quart of BL 25 black ,but it was not used . It all cost £75 in 2001. Regards Barry
