Mick Hemming's Mk3 belt drive

Forums

Hi, does anyone know the size of the belt, that this kit came with?  Thinking of refitting it but have lost the original belt.

Thanks

Ah! Not at home at the moment and will have to check my bikes history file. I’ll let you know later this week. I thought it was Mick Hemming’s but could well be wrong and by the nature of your reply it would seem so. I do however recall the belt conversion on my bike was carried out by Norman White in around 2009.

You could always ask Angie...

The belt drives Mick was supplying in the 90s used Gates PowerGrip HTB belts 920 8M, which is 920mm long with 8mm pitch, in either 40mm width (race) or 32mm width (road). 920mm length goes with an oversize 36 tooth front pulley. For smaller front pulley use belt shorter by  8x0.5x(36 - number of teeth), i.e. I would expect an 880 tooth belt to be used with a 26T or 27T pulley.

Hi Kevin, Looking at my bikes history file the belt drive was fitted and supplied by Norman White and is stated as a NWN Belt Transmission type 34-66-880.
