Fishing wire
A long long time ago I bought a small spool of monel trolling wire.
I would suspect that it will be available at any store that sells sporting or commercial goods for fishing especially if it is around a salt water area.
Still have quite a bit left.

Wire
There is an American company that makes locking wire, called Morosso, and it is a large roll. If you look on the Real Steel web site, www.reasteel.co.uk you will find it.

Hello Norman
I don't have a definitive answer perhaps someone else will chip in.
There is some helpful information here:

Recommends 0.031-0.032 inch or 0.8mm stainless steel lockwire (or safety wire as it's known in the USA).
