How many clutch drive plates in a 57 model 50?

Forums

Hi all,

Just putting a clutch together from a tub of clutch bits. Works out I have enough bits (Inc new rubbers) to make up a pre 57 clutch. I can't remember how many drive plates I put in my other model 50, 18 years ago.

Thought it easier to ask here rather than take the outer case off. My books or the Internet don't appear to list the number of plates for each model.

I'm hoping that someone will have the info off the top of their head. It's either 3 or 4?

Thanks, Neil.

Neil:

My book says for the Model 50, 1961 and 1962 it takes:

pn: 21259 Clutch friction plate (bonded) qty 3

pn: 21480 Clutch plate (plain) qty: 3

plus one (1) pn 21260 Clutch end plate assembly (bonded) qty 1

Many thanks, Mike.

I'll go with that. You must have a book I don't have.

ATB,

Neil.
