Hi all,
I am starting the '50 Model 7 project & found that the front brake pivot post do not use the typical 2 bolts , oval plate with 2 holes, and dual tab washer. Both posts are undercut, as if to receive circlips similar to the tls brake pivot posts. It looks very stock the way the one post is rivited on (see pics). There were no circlips installed, but I assume I will need some, anyone seen this set up? Is it aftermarket?

That's the system used on the pre-war type 7" brake plates. I don't know how long it continued. The shoes are retained by two wire circlips (no ears or tags). They should be there.
I'd guess that Russell Motors would be the best place to try.

A 1950 Model 7 owner (Brian Doan) that restored his bike confirmed that his bike also had these posts, it seems they used wire type circlips, even though the twins parts book shows the traditional method of 2 bolts, a plate & double tab washer. I confirmed what Brian said by looking in the singles parts book for 1950 & it does show the wire clips!
Thanks Brian & Richard !
